Honestly, Destiny turned into a job to be able to be the right score to play content. The story and vaulting got bad. Quiting that game was freeing.

My son introduced me to Destiny when it first came out in 2013. From the first logging on experience, I was HOOKED 🪝 !!!! I have played it non stop since then. I am so bummed about the choices they have (or haven't) made. I barely played anything else in the first place. My gosh!! All the work and time in creating my characters,and the money I spent playing this game is such a letdown. F*#@ Marathon, and I hope it flops!!!!!!! I have immensely enjoyed playing with all of you from across the world, and will miss all of it!!😢

The destiny content vault didn't ruin destiny 2, it was the fact they are still supporting old consoles, which has a huge impact on the game and the stability of the game.

Its hard to believe that there was a time where I genuinely almost got a destiny tattoo. Dodged that bullet, 10 years wasted.

~10k hours since 2014 and I retired from destiny last october. Idc if marathon gets 10/10 reviews and break player count records, I will refuse to download it.

Ever since they added the 'Event Card' I don't touch anything pertaining the Event anymore. I don't even open its menu, so that I don't have to see the big banner every time, flashing in my face, telling me to buy the Event Card. It just feels like them tugging at my wallet every time. It's just super-annoying! All this extreme monetization where everything you try to do or open is behind a paywall, is like a door being slammed on your face over and over again, until you just stop looking for anything anymore.

The downfall started when bungo decided not to carry anything over from D1, we lost all our weapons, armour, shaders ect...... Everything good about D1 wasn't carried over to D2 and it was so boring. The sunsetting fiasco was a big mistake and reusing old content was also a bad idea. It's become repetitive and boring as you can only do things so many times it gets old.

As a loyal player since launch of vanilla D1 - Lightfall seriously started the final nail for me. Dropped off playing then. Final Shape was the 1st time ever I didn't buy an expansion. They've lost my support now. The nerfing of everything, the sunsetting of most of the content (TBH loved Mars & Venus). I completely agree with you about Marathon vs Destiny. They're milking it for all they can & they really don't care.

Its sad executives are just perpetually greedy. They want best of both worlds, to both endlessly grow but cut corners at the same time. The irony is that if they just invested and doubled down on the game they would see those higher returns. We can all agree destiny was and truly is great but its no secret they have coasted for years. I remember booting up D1 and thinking of the endless possibilities the franchise could go. The game is effectively dead and its not because the 10 year saga concluded. People like to act this is a big reason but it comes down to content. Bungie is essentially done the Phyonix way of development where they make a amazing base game with awesome mechanics and gameplay but just stop investing in it to grow. (That being said nobody does this like Phyonix with rocket league). R.I.P Destiny. I won't be playing marathon unless its quite literally genre defining but I imagine I am not the target audience for an extraction shooter.

I haven't really played in 2 years. I tried playing again a couple of months ago, it's just too old now. I played since day 1 D1, it's just run it's course. I guess it's a combo of it's played out at this point and I'm much older now lol.

If for any consolation Halo died at Reach and I was at peace with that. I literally just started playing shooter games with dedicated roles and after enjoying the low level type of games, I wish I started Destiny when it came out. Just to annoying to start now. Ultimately the crew sees the ship getting old and decides to build a new one to keep things going. If this lasted forever everyone would complain they need to make a new game. They are 2-0, Marathon might be a go.

I had 10 friends that played D2 and 5 very close friends that also played D2. No one of us bought FS. My clan has 100 members and only 5 play regularly. The end is near and Destiny will not survive this comming year.

Basically bungie was better off under microsoft and activision supervision. Once they went independent their titanic hit the iceberg

All these happened because of things like LGBBQ people were celerated like pride month kind of stuff. Thats why selfish and f*kced up people joined bungie. When they were behaving like human beings they were one of the best in gaming. I never want to unlove d2 but here i am editing and writing that now I slowly started disliking d2 cuz i get angry when i play and see things are not happening that are supposed to happen. Now i wish that all the time that i spent on d2 had i spent on warframe i would’ve been one the strongest by now at least and started gaming on youtube or twitch or something idk but I would. Nevermind, i started playing warframe and try to feel like taking revenge from d2 by playing warframe.

they cut corners left out coneent then sold it in season passes, locks so much behind paywals, and didn't give package from 0ld DLC instead selling it for release prices
